My Story
In my 14th year of teaching in primary schools I received an opportunity that would change my teaching career.. and my life..
I had been given the chance to teach in a long daycare centre as an ECT. The position was permanent, and after 14 years of casual teaching and not being able to do my country service due to raising my family I jumped at the chance for permanent employment. I thought it would be an easy job.. how hard could it be teaching 4 year olds?! No attitude, no talking back, and best of all, not much paperwork!
Boy was I wrong!!!!!
I thought the workload of a primary school teacher was bad.. I had no idea what was expected of an early childcare educator..
Ok.. on top of providing a nurturing, stimulating, safe and caring environment for the 22 three to five year old children in my care I was expected to: Document meaningful learning experiences Create meaningful learning stories (in many different forms) Follow up on these experiences Link these experiences to EYLF outcomes, National Quality Standards, philosophies and theorists Document my daily program Link each experience in my program to outcomes, quality standards, philosophies and theorists, Document daily routines Create meaningful reflections, both personal reflections and reflecting on teaching experiences Fill out cleaning checklists, Create incident reports and SO much more!!!

This is how Was born... Early Years Learning Resources DO NOT create cookie cutter, useless resources..
I create MEANINGFUL, RELEVANT, FUN, CREATIVE TEMPLATES, POSTERS, ACTIVITIES and DISPLAYS.
They are RELEVANT GO-TO RESOURCES FOR THE TIME POOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR
For educators wanting to spend more of their valuable time interacting with their precious children, instead of sitting behind a desk documenting everything from dirty nappies to writing learning stories..
PLAY NOW... WORK LATER (Smarter not harder..)
