Welcome to my store. I truly hope you find my resources useful in your setting. I have worked in Early Childhood Education and Care for 21 years with 16 years experience in Australian Indigenous Education at a Multi-functional Aboriginal Children’s Service (MACS) where I have taught in the 0-3 room and the 3-5 room. I have also worked closely with the local Aboriginal Community in my home town as the Parent and Community Engagement Project Co-ordinator where I have run two successful literacy programs to engage parents in reading with their children. I have a Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood Education and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I have worked in Long Day Care Centres, Pre-schools, TAFE Teacher, Family Day Care and as a Nanny on an isolated rural sheep property in the Macquarie Marshes. I have a passion for Aboriginal Education and believe it should be included into all preschool programs because every child has the right to be educated in Aboriginal Education. I believe the inclusion of Aboriginal perspectives in educational programs helps children to develop an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal Culture, and it is a step forward to Reconciliation. For the Aboriginal child, appropriate and relevant programs can help build a positive self-esteem and help with a positive start to formal schooling. Familiarising all children with Aboriginal Culture can help break down social barriers—making the unknown, known.
